This is a photo of my kitchen table. I designed the original shape, and had a carpenter make the frame of the table leaving the border raised. I then created the interior mosaic using broken tiles and blackened grout. The edges were painted with red latex paint and then given a coat of polyurethane. The legs were painted royal blue. I just love this table for it's colour and functionality... it doubles as a giant hotplate!
Years ago I taught mosaic work and I think this piece is wonderful! The black grout really sets off the colors in the tiles and the shape is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love this table! It's so colourful and the black grout really gives it a dramatic feel. And your other stuff is fantastic too! Can I borrow your cedar twig technique?
